FEMA Still Accepting Wildfire Assistance Applications
According to a December 3 article in The Times of Tigard/Tualatin/Sherwood, FEMA is still accepting applications for disaster assistance from those affected by the recent wildfires despite the November 30 application deadline having past. “No one eligible for assistance will be turned away,” a spokesperson for FEMA is quoted as saying. Recovery resources available include:
- Free Crisis Counseling — For help, call the Safe+Strong Helpline at 800-923- 4357 or visit online at safestrongoregon.org/mental-emotional-health
- Disaster Legal Assistance — Call 800-452-7636 or 503-684-3763, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or visit online at oregondisasterlegalservices.org
- Flood Insurance — Find information on the National Flood Insurance Program online at www.floodsmart.gov/wildfires
