NAMI Oregon Helpline Active During Crisis
NAMI Oregon is committed to providing live responses to phone and email Helpline queries during our state’s crisis response to the coronavirus. We will be answering calls and emails on weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm.
Please feel free to call us at 503-230-8009, or toll free at 800-343-6264. You can email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We will do our best to help callers navigate local resources given current circumstances.
(If you do not get through to a live person, please leave a message. We will return messages as promptly as possible. Messages left after hours and on weekends will be answered the next business day.)
NAMI National has developed a Coronavirus Information and Resources Guide, which is a downloadable PDF document. Please note that the national helpline operated by NAMI National will not be taking live phone calls and emails due to restrictions for workplaces in the Washington, D.C., area. They will be answering queries within 24 to 48 hours.
Most NAMI education programs and support groups offered across Oregon are canceled for at least the next four weeks. We are in the process of purchasing telecommunication services that will allow NAMI to offer online support groups for individuals living with mental illness and for family members and other loved ones.
Also, some Oregon chapters will be offering one-on-one support over the phone. More details on local support offerings will be forthcoming as plans are put in place.
