Resource Helpline – 800-343-6264 or 503-230-8009
NAMI Oregon maintains a toll-free information Helpline for individuals living with mental illness and their family members. Our Helpline (800-343-6264 or 503-230-8009) is answered by trained volunteers and staff who provide consumers and family members statewide with information on local mental health services; access to mental health providers; prescription assistance programs; housing, transportation, and other basic services; supportive peer counseling; family-centered and peer-delivered education programs; and consumer rights. We also connect callers with local NAMI affiliates and other organizations that can provide further local information.
NAMI Support Groups are peer-facilitated, meaning that the groups are led by specially trained facilitators who have direct lived experience that reflects what you or your family are encountering. Support groups provide emotional and practical support, and they can be a source of information as others with similar lived experiences share what has worked and not worked during their journey.
NAMI Connection is a weekly recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding. See the list of NAMI Connection Support Groups in Oregon to find a group near you.
NAMI Family Support Group is a weekly or monthly peer-led meeting where people can talk frankly about their challenges supporting a family member with mental illness and help one another through learned wisdom. See the list of NAMI Family Support Groups in Oregon to find a group near you.
